Colorado is a state full of epic adventure around every corner, making it the perfect destination for anyone who loves the great outdoors. From city life in Denver to snowy mountain towns like Aspen and Telluride, Colorado truly has everything that a mountain lover could dream of. As the unofficial winter sports capital of the United States, travelers from all over the world flock to Colorado during the winter months to experience some of what this state has to offer. Colorado is also home to four of the country's coolest national parks, an iconic craft beer scene, legal weed, and eclectic granola hipster vibes. With college towns like Boulder and Fort Collins paving the way for Gen Z'ers to move there, Colorado's general demographic is young and fit people who are usually fit and active. I highly recommend planning both a trip to Colorado in the summer and winter. Heck, you might as well move there too. Queue John Denver's 'Rocky Mountain High' and head on by to Colorado!

Best Time to Visit

Depending on what you are looking to do, Colorado is great to visit any time of year. During the summer, the temperatures are on average, between 78°F (25.6°C) to 94°F (34.4°C). During the winter months, you can expect the weather to be anywhere from 16°F(-8°C) to 54°F (12°C). Be cautious driving during the winter months, as there will be many road closures. Keep this in mind if you are doing a cross-country road trip and your route goes on I-70.

    Hike a 14er

    The ultimate hiker bragging right of passage is to climb a 14,000 ft mountain in Colorado. Make sure you have a day or two to adjust to the altitude. Bring plenty of water and some bear spray and put on your hiking boots.

    Visit Denver

    Colorado’s vibrant capital city is a mile-high oasis for visitors with its epic art scene and eclectic residents. Surrounded by beautiful mountains and a craft beer scene that is not to be missed, Colorado’s Denver is calling your name.

    Visit Rocky Mountain National Park

    See a concert at Red Rocks

    If seeing a concert at Red Rocks isn’t on your bucket list, then you either don’t know what it is or you’ve already been there.

    Go skiing in Colorado

    With over 700 islands, you can’t just pick one to visit in Greece. During the summer months, I can’t think of a dreamier place to be than sailing around the Aegean.

    Visit Telluride

    Renting an ATV in Mykonos is an absolute must-do activity. To take a break from the partying and the best way to see all that Mykonos has to offer outside of Chora, hop on one of these bad boys and see where the road takes you—literally. You will be driving on busy roads.
